Selkirk Copper says it has more than doubled the Minto resource base as it targets a restart of the past-producing Yukon mine by 2028, leveraging existing infrastructure rather than building a new operation. Management says the updated resource now includes 940 million lb of measured and indicated copper, with comparable growth in gold and silver, following a 52,288m Phase 1 drill program completed in mid-2026. The company is more than 90% through a 50,000m Phase 2 program and is highlighting high-grade hits, including a 13.12% copper-equivalent intercept at Minto North, plus step-out drilling that suggests further upside to the south. The restart plan is supported by a 4,100 tpd plant, underground/open-pit workings, a 400-person camp, water treatment, and grid power, all of which should reduce capex and shorten the path back to production. For precious-metals traders, the direct price impact is limited, but the gold/silver by-product exposure means any faster-than-expected restart would add incremental future supply. Near term, the key catalyst is continued drill and development results into late 2026/2027, with the market likely focused on whether the updated resource can translate into a financeable restart timeline and economics by 2028.
